Firstly, check the audio signal at this point:

This can be done with headphones. Or you can use the included speaker but the sound is very quiet.

No sound from there.

Check the solder pin12 of the Pi. Also short pins of variable resistor as a picture

Did those things. 12 continuity is good. Shorting the pins did nothing.
