On the Tinkerboy 2.1 board, could you label where the soldering points for the control buttons are located (XYAB Start Select, Up Down Left Right).

They are located on the front side of the board, up and to the left of the conductive pads. Check out his Instagram @_tinkerboy for pictures.

The v2.1 and v2.2 boards use the Pro Micro for controller inputs so there's no need to solder any buttons to the Pi. It's all taken cared by that board. You just need a micro USB data cable to connect it to the Pi which should recognized by RetroPie as a USB gamepad.

Oh okay, I figured it'd be something like that but I didn't want to start taking a Saldering gun anything. Appreciate the help, thank you.
