I somehow cracked the screen Helder sent me, which had this result,

After that I ordered a new screen. Unfortunately in the process of taking off the original LCD, I also took off eight of the pads and so the screen PCB is ruined. If anybody has a working 2.4 inch mintypi screen please PM me.

Just order some of these, they are quite cheap from OSHpark (and designed by a member here, Moosepr). Solder the screen to the small board, and then, instead of the ribbon cable, you will wire 8 thin wires direct to the minty pi PCB test pads.
