Power USB hub directly from source

Post by nsqpdn » Thu Aug 18, 2016 5:56 am

Hello everyone,

As I am starting to get all the components, I got my USB hub but, for my surprise, it can't have more than 2 devices plugged in. I believe this is due to power limitations of the pi zero. So, I wonder if, when I start playing with its guts, I could wire Vcc and ground to the output of the powerboost.

Thanks in advance.

I added a small strip of prototyping board that every single component get's its power from. The RPi, the USB hub, the audio amp, the USB soundcard and the external USB port. Pretty easy and pretty clean way to supply everything with power, IMHO.
