Kitsch-Bent Cartridge trouble
Hey so I really want to add the cartridge reader into my build but, after three different SD card readers and no responses to previous post I'm feeling like its a lost cause.. From previous threads I have read on the Kitsch Bent Cartridge Imaged below you can use any pads.. I'm starting to think this is not the case because why would there be so many different pads then? please let me know if you have any answers as the PI reads the mini SD when its in the PI but not through cartridge reader.
Any info on what pad they should be? checked continuity and from PI to pads it reads all correctly

what do you mean by valid where they are supposed to go?Chedda wrote:Have you verified that all connections are valid where they are supposed to go via volt meter?
I have made sure that each wire connecting to the PI (all the PP spots) are connected to the SD card card reader pads and show continuity and verified that each pad is directly corresponding to the correct PI0 pads that @wermy suggested in the video. The only difference is I point ground to PP5 like his video but the guide (page) has PP6 as an option.

Just to make sure that you are referencing the SD card reader pinout and marry them properly to the pinout on the test pads?

Re: Kitsch-Bent Cartridge trouble
@Chedda
so now the PI actually turns on when I have ground connected to PP6.. But My screen was still black.. thought it was due to the interference and I added a coupling capacitor like @wermy said to try and help.... So progress has been made the PI reads that theres and SD card because the green light keeps flashing 3 times.. without the SD cards in the light doesn't flash at all.
Although when I have the mini SD card inserted into the PI the green light stays lit with no flashing..
Any thoughts

Re: Kitsch-Bent Cartridge trouble
That's a bummer! I am a fan of kitsch-bent version b for the microsd card reader.
What version of the GB cart reader are you using? OEM dmg or the GBA version?

Whats the retro Pi Iso??Chedda wrote:I just saw your edit. You may have to put the RetroPie iso back onto the microsd card. See if that helps
