Re: Issues With Screen
I do not understand what is your problem.
As I understand, you removed the chip and destroy the pin number 2, so now you can't solder it.
You followed the wire on the PCB to find where to solder it (last picture) but it doesn't work ?
On your picture, are the black wire pin is connected to the pin on the left ? This pins (2 from the right) are the AV1 ans AV2. They shouldnt be connected to the ground.

Re: Issues With Screen
The screen does not turn on by plugging in like that. The problem is that I'm not sure where I have to solder the red wire and for the black wire I'm well on the GND of the chip.tomsupergreen wrote:I do not understand what is your problem.

And if my black wire is not well welded, where do I put it on the Rpi?

Re: Issues With Screen
You know where to put the red wire but you broke it.
Are you sure the screen is well connected ? For this one (I have the same) the connector is larger than the band. Look the previous post of n.marek. Everything is shown.

- Remove all the wires.
- Clean the 4 pins (look the yellow circles, the GND and AV1 look like connected: they should not)
- check the solder guide here http://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=21465
- solder the black wire and red wire directly where the small red and white were connected
- make sure you connected everything correctly on you raspberry PI zero (check here http://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=958)
- make sure you are using the "POWER" micro usb on the raspberry PI.
If nothing works....that's because you broke it. You have to find another screen.

Re: Issues With Screen
Asking for help, and then when someone answer, you changed your mind ... (c'est un tout petit peu vexant).
Anyway, I have the same screen and it work fine, but you need to cut the button part.

Thanks, i don't give up with this screen

EDIT:
I find another guy with the same screen but my chip is completely broken. I can't resolder it --'

Re: Issues With Screen
I got it to stop smoking, but I haven't worked on it in a while. I ended up getting a new screen, just in case. I'm in the process of working on this again.rodocop wrote: ↑Wed Feb 01, 2017 7:57 pmWiring both the white and yellow to the tv and ground pins is fine (if you solder white to ground it will do nothing). But there really is no reason to solder the white wire to anything. Just solder the yellow wire to the tv pin, black to the ground pin beside or your power strip, and red to your power strip. (Only solder the red wire to the pi to test the screen, it's better in the end to solder it to the power strip). Also, in your pics it looks like the solder on the red wire is quite close to the ground pin on the pi. Make sure they aren't bridged. (PP1 and PP6).magthidon wrote:I'm still really confused as to what the right way to wire this is. I've rewatched wermy's videos and he connects the white and yellow wires on the same AV input spots (square and round holes for AV1). Did he do that wrong or am I missing something here?
Also did you ever get the screen to stop smoking or did you need to replace it?
Currently trying to connect the new screen to the pi, because I definitely want to get this to work, but I have to clean up my pi zero a little from excess solder.
I've been wondering if it is worth it to test the screen before connecting it to the power strip, as I really don't want to solder, resolder, then resolder the wire, due to my lack of experience. I still have nightmares.
So the black wire can either go to the ground beside the yellow wire or to the ground on the power?
