Screen Randomly Stopped Working!!!

Post by 89krisd » Sun Mar 12, 2017 3:22 pm

Completed my pi zero build using this amazing forum and website a last year and everything was running fine.

The other night i went to power it on to beast in to some retro gaming but my screen does not power on now.

Everything was working fine just had some software tweaks to do to get it perfect.

I have opened it all up and i cant see any loose connections. It still takes charge and powers on but nothing appears on the screen. Not sure if it is the screen or the pi.

Can anybody help or provide me with some suggestions please because i am stuck

Thanks in advance

Write a fresh image to a spare SD card and boot from it. Screen wont display anything if there is no SD / if it's corrupted perhaps.

If you're using a cart reader and SD cart put the SD card directly in the pi and retest. If it works the issue is your cart reader, cart reader wiring or cart reader itself.

If nothing has physically changed it would be odd (but not impossible) for the screen to just die.

Cheers mate turns out to be a dud sd card.

That is two i have went through since October. A 16gb and a 32gb have self destructed.

Tried formatting them on my laptop but became extremely hot and write protected.

Cheers for help though
