Hi all,
First time posting. Been slowly collecting the ingredients to join in the fun. But I have had trouble getting the Adafruit composite screen. However, the Adafruit 3.5 inch TFt is easily obtained. So my question ... can I use this instead? This is the one I am speaking of https://www.adafruit.com/product/2097
Cheers,

Re: Using the Adafruit TFT
Welcome! I really don't recommend screens like the one you linked to. They run through the GPIO pins and the framerate is pretty bad compared to the composite screens. Additionally, there is a fair amount of software setup you need to do for those screens, whereas the composite screens "just work" after soldering 2 wires. Finally, the aspect ratio is different on those, whereas the composite ones match the dremeled-out Game Boy screen almost perfectly.halien wrote:Hi all,

Hope this helps!
EDIT: I should add, the wiki is slowly growing its list of alternative screens you can get: http://sudomod.com/wiki/index.php?title=GBZ_Screen

Thanks wermy! I was just wondering and wanted a reason *not* to get these screens. They seemed easier to install and can get them everywhere. I'll have a look at one of the alternatives.
