Adafruit 3.5 display - lifted pads converting to 5v

Post by TheMaddModder » Tue May 31, 2016 9:27 pm

So after hours of wiring the buttons - I finally got to the screen (bought mine at micro center over the weekend- check their website). I got the SOIC-8 chip off with little issue but after constantly reworking the points because i couldnt get picture on the screen i lifted both the power and gnd pads off the board. I cooled down after yelling and eventually figured out a fix and wanted to share if anyone should run into this issue.

The 5v pad (white wire) has a trace leading right that point and the area under the chip is all GND - you just need to scrap the board to expose the copper.
