Tolerance on Game Boy DMG aftermarket cases

Post by lost_carrot » Tue Mar 13, 2018 9:52 am

I bought a cheap aftermarket case from ebay and I have tried dry fitting my GBZ button PCB in the case and I am getting tons of button wiggle. Is that an issue with all aftermarket cases, or just the really cheap ones? And is there anyway to tighten up the buttons? I would prefer not to spend the extra money if it really isn't going to fix my issue.

Put small inserts (something plastic between the button and membrane. A hole puncher works great for this.

It is a PRS Tech board I bought off of ebay about a year back. I think it is more of an issue with the aftermarket case/buttons. They are really cheap and the tolerances are not exactly up to par with an genuine case. Like Double0EK suggested putting something in the button really helped keeping them tight in the case.
