I used female and male jp2 connectors so I could attach and detact anything from the top and bottom shells. So I soldered those on and multimetered both ends to make sure the connections were solid. Before I glued my buttons down, I quit Emulationstation to a shell. And pressed L and R. Once I saw Q and E letters when I pressed them, I knew it was wired up properly and it was safe to glue down.
