LCD Mounting Bracket - Fix without hotglue

Post by Marty33 » Fri Jun 15, 2018 12:50 pm

Hello all.

I'm looking for a technique to fix my LCD Mounting Bracket without hotglue.

I seek, in particular, a discreet and clean way to fix it from transparent shell.

Big thanks

a good quality clear epoxy should be ok.....

something like these
(i personally havent used these, but you can test first before aplying to see if it dries clear)

https://www.amazon.co.uk/CLEAR-ADHESIVE ... B006E4912Y

just use something like these to keep things in place, until the epoxy is fully dried and cured....

good quality epoxy normally dries rock solid (there no point of return, once dried)....
but you also dont need to slap it all over the place, just spread it cleanly and maybe just on the edges of the bracket and you should be good.

I used the 3m vhb 2-sided tape in the 2mm width. It is clear and works awsome! If for some reason you need to get your screen out it also will come apart with a little persuasion.

I test epoxy but i give up this solution.

I screwed the support on the glued part. There's a little effort that's done and that's off. The glue is relatively "breakable".

I buy 3m vhb 2-sided tape for testing it.

that's a bit disappointing....

a good quality epoxy (doesn't have to be super expensive) is really good and a ultra solid fix....
especially when the two parts are mixed properly and its allowed to cure (normally around 24hrs)

VHB tape is also a good option.....
