Teensy Teensy

Post by Camble » Mon Jun 27, 2016 5:08 am

I found the Teensy, however Teensy, to be a little big for my needs. So I found this tiny little development board.

It's not as powerful and only has 4 I/O pins after using two for USB, so would require a bit more work than just soldering 12 wires from the button PCB. I'm considering trying it out, but thought I'd post it up in case it's useful to anyone.

If the 32u4 clones are too big, too, you can give the ATtiny167 a try.
I think it works as a USB HID, too.

Or even smaller, the ATtiny85 (i think this is the clone of yours) I think they are 18x23mm

Nice, that first one is so much cheaper than a Teensy too!

Indeed. And if you have the space and want a cheap Teensy LC, use this one here:

I only have received the 312u4 one, and i can confirm it works great as an alternative to the Teensy.
So i can't speak from personal experience if the other 2 are working as a USB HID.
But from what i've read, they should be good to go.

Edit. After some research, yes. You can use them as a USB HID: https://www.obdev.at/products/vusb/index.html

I think I'm still going to have to remove some more microUSB ports to reduce the profile
