You're wanting to put an SD card slot in the game cartridge? I've actually considered something similar with a hidden wifi dongle.

In theory it should work. You'd just need to solder to four traces and then solder the corresponding pins to the usb hub

As for the PCB controller board, did you check our buy/sell forum? I haven't been very active over there (have all my parts).
