Thanks, the buttons are from Kitsch-Bent, they are all silicone. Do you know which programs specifically to delete? Speeding up boot time would be awesome. Takes almost a minute as is.Ganreizu wrote:This is what i will probably end up using. I have one of these dongles for my wii u. You can then delete the networking programs that slow the boot up process by like 40 seconds and not have to go through wifi set up or anything.gnarlynick wrote:Not sure if this is what you're asking, but I use a USB to LAN adapter for my GBZ. Just plug it into the USB port on your GBZ build and plug an ethernet cable into the other end. It should be assigned an IP by your router on boot and I ssh into it using this method. I also FTP my game ROMS into the filesystem this way using FileZilla. The one I linked to above is the one I am using, bought it at MicroCenter and it works great. My GBZ has no internet connectivity otherwise, I only connect it in that manner when I need to access the filesystem for whatever reason.
P.S: Your gameboy shell and button color combo is visually appealing.

Refer to this thread.gnarlynick wrote:Thanks, the buttons are from Kitsch-Bent, they are all silicone. Do you know which programs specifically to delete? Speeding up boot time would be awesome. Takes almost a minute as is.
I think you still need samba to do the things you do over internet, though.
Re: Internet over USB
So i think you actually do need both of the services mentioned in the thread if you want to use networking (dhcpcd and samba) but since we want to use direct connections infrequently we need to remove it from boot but not eliminate the option entirely. raspi-config apparently has an option to wait for network at boot or not (can launch it from the retropie menu in Emulation Station), but i don't know how to do this and i wouldn't mess with those services until then.gnarlynick wrote:Do you know which programs specifically to delete?
