How to make gameboy 0

Hi. I saw Wermy's gameboy 0 videos of the newer ones. I want to make it too but i want to make it on perfboard because I really like using it 
. I have tactile switchs. Wermy used a pcb but how do I connect seperate buttons? They have 4 legs and are mostly used on breadoards for arduino. Thanks .
