Custom raspberry pi for gameboyzero ?

Hi all,

I was working on my raspberry pi project Raspiboy (see in "other projects" forum) for which I am working on a custom board integrating usb-hub/amplifier/battery manager system when something occured to me :
- why not making a custom raspberry pi board that would include all necessary interfaces and remove useless ones? We could even integrate the interfacing of the 3.5lcd screen and get rid of the problem of the controller board diversity in size/shape/voltage...

Does anyone tried it already?

The only problem I can see is that it would require about 1000 minimum quantity, but as I want to try to make a crowdfunding campaign it could be not such a problem.

As my project and sudomod need basically the same features I was considering making a custom rpi that would be good both for my casing and original gameboy casing.

Would you be guys interested by such a custom pi for the gameboy zero?

Well I was considering two possibilities :
- element 14 are doing custom raspberry pi with 1000 moq, but I think it might be quite expensive
- Allwiner cpu, like C.H.I.P board or orange pi. Why do you say ... what do you think of Allwiner cpu? (I don't know much about them !) I ordered a orange pi lite to have a try.

interesting concept but are we then removing the fun of this project if it all in one super board. yes boards like helders and kitch_bits help but we still need to assemble most of the bits to make a gb0.
