Could this type of battery be adapted?

I think these are the type of battery cells used inside laptop batteries. They're lithium Ion, and just one of them can be 6000mAh, I already have a powerbank using them and they work very well, is there some way to adapt these for the gameboy zero project? I think with a squeeze you might fit a couple in a slightly adapted gameboy case.

But I'm more interested in firstly how to adapt a couple to have a JST-PH connector to work with the rest of the project. Any gurus know how it might be done?

Yes, they can be used, if you have the room for them inside the case.

There are several "Sleds" made for dual 18650 batteries. These are very popular in the Vaporizer scene for creating your own Mods for vaping.
Here is an example. They are also available from many 3D printing sites.

Make sure you wire them in parallel. Should work with the internal charger.

The battery can deliver about 1500mAh at low load, anything about 1A load is a problem and the two cells has different capacity.

Also, it's unprotected.

Argh, well that's just for those cheap chinese ultrafire ones. Whats that actual cell size known as, 18650s? That way we can search for good panasonic ones or something equivalent, maybe they fare better?

14500 would be a better option due to them being the same physical size as a AA battery. 900 mAh is probably the max you'll find.

The ones I use in my Vaporizer range from 2500 mAh to 3500 mAh per cell.

Good point. 900mah would only give me 1800mAh max, or 3600mAh using 4, which would be ok *if* I had enough space to fit them in, and they had Re/Discharging protection circuits built in.

I got one of the 18650 with 3500mAh into my case (link). But they are really big, I think you could fit 2 of them in, if you really wanted to, but it all depends on your build. If you have the SNES L&R button it could be a problem. I ordered one to try it out, 3500mAh for 12€ is a really good deal

I think 1 would probably be enough, but does this have the protection built in?
