I am trying to find a good enough battery for this project in the UK.
I have found various on eBay like this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121823784057
Though I don't know if they should be trusted.
Pimoroni have a 2000mAh one but it has been out of stock for ages:

Anyone found any?

I bought mine from a Chinese seller on eBay. Took a while to arrive, but no need to be so cautious.

I was having trouble finding one in the uk too. I bought a 3500mAh 18650 type cell with a built in protection circuit from germany here...

I haven't started work on my project yet tho, so it remains to be seen how easy it'll be to use this in the case. You'll need to change the battery connector too. But I know other users have successfully used them. It's more expensive (even for postage :/) but it's good quality.
By the way Camble I didn't realise you were also in Scotland, that's a few of us i've seen on the forum now.

Really? The big post at the top seems to suggest we should be cautious.
As does Samsung's ventures.

Ah, I misunderstood. I thought you were concerned about being scammed or ripped off.

I'm in Canada and had to pay around 50$ to have it shipped from Adafruit... that's shipping and duties. Then add the cost of the battery. I'm wondering how a Chinese seller can get away with shipping a LiPo... I'll have to check back and see if anybody does find a decent cheaper solution. I was looking on EBay but was a lil scared after receiveing the Power Boost. I figured I may as well but the battery from the same company... but 50$ plus the cost of the battery is a bit much.

Simple: they aren't truthful on what's in the package. Mine was labeled as being a sata cable.

you can try samsung galaxy s2 battery. Its small and brings all around 2000mAh - enough for ~3h playtime
