USB sound card audio not working

Hi all,
I have a Sabrent USB sound card attached to an audio amp and an Adafruit Switched headphone jack and speaker. I also have a potentiometer.
I have followed this diagram (but with a 2.5w mono audio amp) and while the headphone jack works, the speaker doesn't.[

You may have wired your jack port wrong, see:

Thanks for this. I can't read circuit diagrams very well. Could you explain this to me please or just tell me a pin out?

The black speaker wire should connect to the Green wire on the headphone socket.

Could you share how you wired the amp (i assume this one
https://www.adafruit.com/product/2130) since the labels are slightly different to the diagram?
Thanks!

I've got ground and 5v obviously going to to the powerboost, the a- going to the middle pin of the USB sound card headphone jack, the a+ going to the two other pins of the headphone jack.
The speaker out goes to the pins on the potentiometer as per the diagram.
I should note the headphones work when connected and the volume does change correctly. It's when they're unplugged when I get no speaker sound.
