I see what you did there. 8-)

Yeah that's the thread thanks! :) I've no idea how it would perform, but i'd imagine pretty well if it was for daily use in a blackberry. But yeah, it is pretty obvious on the front of the case.

I loved Sam an Max thanks! I'll probably go back play it again actually once I complete my build. I'm not sure of which AGS titles to recommend, last time I looked there was some deliberation over who was going to take on the Linux port of it, that seems to have been resolved now an its got good Linux support now too! Good news!

Offhand last time one of the top titles was a remake of King's Quest. But they have an award winning section, and the latest games there look very impressive!..

an here's a searchable section of all games on the site..

The psp stick is pretty good, but tbh i'd prefer a white one as it's a white case i'm using. White psp's do exist if I recall correctly, just need to find an analog stick for one. :) (Edit - you can just buy replacement white button caps off ebay!)

Those flush mount L and R buttons look great! Any idea what type they are?

I was wandering about diagonal movements. it seems as long as you only have to navigate up&down and left&right separately, it works very accurate. that's at least the purpose of this kind of trackballs, isn't it?!
plus I was wondering how sensible this device reacts eventually...
... to be honest, I haven't ever used such device, so I might just need to test things out. maybe a one by one comparison. has anybody ever done this before? any reports? or even links? would make things so much easier!

its working "good". In my first version i just set the cursor movement to 15px per movement indication.
Right now i play around with a kind of mouse acceleration, starting with 5 px increasing to 20px.
If you go diagonal the mouse goes in a "stairway movement", but its good for playing point&click.

There is a tiny USB touchpad avaible (http://www.ergonomictouchpad.com/mini_touchpad.php) but i think the benefit is not sooo good.
Trackball looks great, works good and is damn cheap ;-)

@dezent: thanks for the update.
the touchpad idea is indeed interesting. could get placed somewhere near the battery compartment...

I'm currently installing ScummVM on my build. just added some games and noticed that I couldn't navigate with the GBZ's D-Pad. did a little research but unfortunately came only came across this manual over here: http://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php/User_ ... :_Controls
please tell me, how did you configure/keymap the GBZ buttons to make them work with ScummVM?

[...] using the D-pad in ScummVM is just pain, that was the reason for implementing a blackberry trackball (~5€@ebay as breakout).
The device itselfe works fine just a bit "unsmooth", but much better than D-pad controlls [...]
if you could, please also share your updated trackball code specs.

Hi there, little bit older thread but might the right place to ask:

1. When I start a ScummVM Game I can get back to Retropie anymore. Only restart helps. How could I set keys to open the ScummVM Menu, also to save, load, exit etc?
2. The Joystick works fine in Scumm but its to fast, how to set the speed only for ScummVM or in general of other games as well?
For example Mario Kart on N64 is inverted axis, other are ok.

THX for the help!
