I started removing the Triwing screws from the back of the Game Boy, and when I got to the last one it would not budge. I ended up stripping it, and don't know how to get it out. The bigger problem is that it is one of the posts you need to save when cutting out the battery compartment. Any suggestions?

How stripped is it? Can you post a picture?

I broke the hole on mine for the same reason, the post was saved but the hole was damaged to get it out.

If it isn't absolutely horrible, a rubber band between the head and the driver sometimes is enough to get a grip that you need. Success with this is completely dependent on how badly stripped it is.

I've also heard methods of slightly hammering the screwdriver into the screw such that it can get a bit more grip. But lightly, of course.

You might have to drill the screw out and buy a new screw if its serious.

An extractor (just a fancy version of tofu's idea ) could work cleanly but ymmv

I tried the rubber band trick, but the screw was too badly damaged and it didn't work. I do not have the correct size screw extractor, but will buy one today and try that. Thank you for all of the tips.
