PowerBoost 1000 flashing red LED

I have finished wiring my GBZ and tested it out and it was working well.
I left it to charge and came back and tried to play it again, and found that there is a red LED flashing on the powerboost. It doesn't seem to be flashing in any pattern and flashes quite quickly.
I am also getting the little rainbow icon on the LCD which I think means the that PI is detecting low voltage.
I have it connected like so: The Pi, amp and LCD are then connected to the power strip.
The power strip is a DIY one with some wire on a breadboard, coated in solder.
I only added the second connection from the PowerBoost to the power strip because of the low voltage icon showing up.
Any ideas?
