USB Type-C for the GBZ?

Hi@all,
my first Game Boy Zero is going to get finished. I used the well known micro-USB breakout board from Sparkfun.
I'm sure this won't be my last GBZ.
For my second build, I'm thinking about using a USB Type-C breakout board, only for one reason, it's fancy!
Has someone tried this? Is there a recommendable breakout boad?
Among others I found this. It looks very wide, too wide to fit into a Game Boy case. But as I use it only for power and the power pins seem to be in the middle, it could be dremeled down to a certain size.
What do you think? Fancy idea, or too much?
Greetings
