Multiplayer with Screensharing on GBZ?

Unsure if this is where I post for such a discussion, but a passing thought I had was "Multiplayer" on a Gameboy Zero.
As I'm waiting on Kite's All-in-One PCB Board to start another round of units, I've been researching and thinking of concepts, and primarily one design aspect I wanted to see if implementing is possible: Multiplayer.
Looking at Super Mario Bros. on the SNES as an example, that provides 2 player, how would that work if you were trying to connect two devices?
I have an idea, and I was wondering if any of you have any experiences this way: Screensharing and Sending Bluetooth signals as the controller.
In such, a Secondary GBZ would connect to the Host GBZ, with Controls going to the Host GBZ as a Controller 2 through Bluetooth, and a Screensharing Program to provide the images from the Host GBZ to the Secondary GBZ.
Would this be possible from a Raspbian perspective when it comes to Software?
