He put in the hd screen with the hdmi port still available I asked but he isn't sharing the knowledge

Yes i have seen it to. Its a 1up custom boards that you only can order in china. Here is the video. Here you can see it works.

impressive!!! maybe there is some form of HDMI splitter in there, so the screen and the tv both get the same signal?

I think to. I am looking for the past 2 hours on aliexpress and ebay and bangood. Cant find it. I have a 1up 2017 version but i want to have this option to.

maybe he has hand wired the hdmi from the pi to the screen, then the screen socket also becomes the connector?

Not sure if it's relevant but adafruit has hdmi breakout boards.. looks a bit beyond my knowledge though.

Looks like hes using a hdmi display and adding a hdmi splitter to be able to connect to the screen and also be able to connect to the tv .. i was working on something similar where i used a hdmi screen for a gbz build .. i soldered my own hdmi wires since i found it hard to find a small and thin enough hdmi cable .. i was working on making a hdmi cable that would allow me to connect the rpi0 to the screen while also having another female hdmi port available to plug into the tv
