Sound Woes

Post by Sprockett » Sun May 29, 2016 10:07 pm

I simply cannot get sound out of my Pi Zero, I have GPIO18 and GPIO13 hooked up, they are going through a low pass filter which I've checked multiple times, out into the audio amp and into the speaker... For the life of me, I cannot get any sound, I followed all of Adafruits guides, the pins show up as being set. I set the volume on the PI to red, so at the very least I should hear SOMETHING :)

One thing I'm unsure of is I have the two PWM outs going to the Filter, I'm pulling the ground off of one of the GPIO grounds. But for power on the Amp, I'm running that off the Lipo Charger. Left and Right output from the filter is going into the two audio ins.

Not sure what I'm missing, at this point I'd pay for a wired up low pass and a connection to the audio amp, I have just a couple of things and I can wrap this up, but this one has me stumped.

Thanks

Maybe a stupid question but do you have the HDMI plugged in? If so you need to unplug it. If I remenber correctly the GPIO sound only works if no HDMI device is connected.
I don't even know how to solder ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Not a stupid question, no it is not plugged in.

I'm going to order a new set of caps and try it again, this time with a headphone jack to see if I get anything at all...

Very Frustrating..

The one thing I could not resolve with the amp was where to put the ground on the amp coming from the filter.

I would do use audio but I would need a hub, and I'm already tight on space...

Arg...

I was hoping Wermy would cover it in the latest video so I could see what I missed...

Thanks
