Cartridge reader

Post by r4nc0r » Sat Sep 30, 2017 5:57 pm

Hey guys,
I'm pretty new and currently looking to get into the next pre order for kites AIO. A while back I got an arduino shield to save and write original gbc / gba RAM and ROM. The website I got the shield from now offers a standolene module. Shouldnt it be possible to somehow include one of these modules https://www.insidegadgets.com/projects/gbxcart-rw/ into a gbz build and being able to play original games? I'm pretty much a noob when it comes to electronics, but I was thinking maybe you could save a original rom and write it to the pi in a gbz and then write the save (ram) back onto the cartridge? I know thats pretty far fetched, but wouldnt that be the ultimate gbz? :)

Yep, the project is inching forward. Got to iron out some bugs in the spi code but it's very much doable. I actually used inside gadgets as my inspiration for the project...
