Building a GameBoy zero

Post by wikusr6 » Mon Jan 01, 2018 5:13 am

Hey guys,

Im looking to build a Gameboy zero, similar to what wermy did in his video. Ideally I'd like to make it so it has wifi capability, meaning I could just download new games but Im not sure on how to actually go about doing all of this.

Im ordering a standard gameboy case off of ebay that has buttons and the Dpad included but as Im new to all of this I could do with some help.

So Im open to any advice that can be given.

Thanks :)

Hi !

You should read the wiki, watch the videos on youtube and search this forum.
If you build the GBz with a Pi Zero, you will have wifi able build by default.

Yeah. Just make sure to buy a pi zero W with built in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Definatley a good call to check the wiki for more info, you won't be able to find an all in one board easily, so look into simple pcbs and gpio controls too.

I also suggest the gearbest screen and banggood powerboost. The screen needs no mods and the banggood powerboost are much cheaper than adafruits powerboost.

I have used both of those pcbs. Both are good choices!

This is the one! https://www.gearbest.com/development-bo ... 29447.html

Just remember, you need to do the jumper in the IC (see wiki from forum here: https://www.sudomod.com/wiki/index.php? ... est_Screen_ )
