Using USB audio, what if I connect to hdmi port?

Using USB audio, what if I connect to hdmi port?

I have my GB0 configured to use USB audio, but when I connect to the hdmi port on the pi0 I never get sound on my TV. I know that I had to change the order of my sound controllers in the configuration of the terminal so wondering if I can use both.

Are you plugging in the hdmi while the gameboy is already on? I was told it won't switch mid-play and that you will need to restart the gameboy for it to switch. I haven't tried it yet but I was told on the forum.
