So, my OEM pot is a wee bit cracklely. When I touch/turn it, it makes that distinct static noise and jumps around in volume from low to high. If it sits just right, then the volume is good. Reminds me of my old handheld radio from childhood.
This is probably why I was unsure about the filter in the PWM audio guide thread as I was implementing it.
Any tips on fixing the crackling pot? I don't want to tear it apart if it cant be put back together.

You could try this guide here: http://chipmusic.org/forums/topic/12200 ... is-repair/

Thanks. I know this is coming from me, but that's a bit too hacky for my tastes. I dont like the whole drilling and adding a screw on there to attach the wheel back.

Based on the guide though, the point is just to scrub the contacts with an eraser. Does anyone know of perhaps some type of liquid solution that you could submerse the pot in to have the same effect?

I might try this Contact Cleaner (never even knew this product existed). Will report back with my results.

Yes, try IPA (2-propanol). But be sure it is really dry afterwards.Popcorn wrote:Based on the guide though, the point is just to scrub the contacts with an eraser. Does anyone know of perhaps some type of liquid solution that you could submerse the pot in to have the same effect?
Edit: Yes, or use contact cleaner.
