Speaker?

I'm looking for a good speaker, am I right in thinking that I need to get a 30mm one?

I found this 2.0w paper cone speaker with good specs:

The amp I got is rated for 3w, it would be a shame to waste that ;) :D

Anyone know of a better one? Out of a bluetooth speaker perhaps?

I'm using a 1W 8ohm speaker that is doing pretty awesome. You're right about the 30mm diameter. Looks like a good speaker you picked, looking forward to hearing how it sounds (haha, nice unintended pun).

Which amp you using? I also got a 3W but it is worrying me some because that is 3 times the draw of my lcd! Poor battery :( Hopefully having just the 1.5W speaker on my design and setting the audio at a medium-low level will alleviate that but for all I know it will draw that full 3W all the time regardless. Pretty noob at circuits so have no idea if its "smart" in the sense to only draw full 3W if it needs to.

Wattage is not a 1:1 ratio for power consumption. There are a lot of other factors including current and resistance. Meaning, your 3W amp might not be your hugest battery drainer. The only way to truly tell is to get some form of power monitor, hook it up and see what happens over a period of time.

I got this amp (well I bought this amp, both this and my screen still have to arrive - it's been 3 weeks)

I was going to see what's it is like, unless someone know of a better one, it was only £1 posted.
