Tutorial for making custom "3D" Game Boy Buttons with embedded images

Post by CrogDog » Thu Oct 11, 2018 7:42 pm

Image
So I've finished my video tutorial on how to make "3D" Game Boy buttons with embedded images. I hope some will find it useful! If anyone ends up using this guide and makes some of their own, I would love to see them. I ended up making quite a few different sets of buttons in the video, and was thinking of possibly doing a giveaway for a few of the GBZ four button sets I made. I don't think I'll end up building enough custom Game Boys/GBZ's to use all of them myself (unless of course I was rodocop! )

I just wanted to clarify, you're just placing the image on top of the button and not pressing it down into the concave of the button?

Yes it's just sitting flat on the top

Those are super cool, I especially like the purple SNES ones with the ABXY. Got the video up on Youtube as we speak, just gotta watch it sometime.

I haven't, that's a good idea though! Might have to get myself a set of punches like those
