GPIO RetroPie Image on new Pi A+?
GPIO RetroPie Image on new Pi A+?
Hey everyone! I was wondering if anyone out there was able to get an image of retropie up and running on the new Raspberry Pi A+ model to work with GPIO button inputs. I've tried multiple times and just cant seem to get it working properly. The new A+ requires that you use the new "stretch" image of retropie and it boots up great but doest seem to want to play nice with GPIO inputs. Any help would be awesome! Thanks in advance!

Code: Select all
Put your sd card into your pi3b and go into the terminal. Type:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get -y upgrade
After that is done go into raspi-config and make these changes.
In advanced options
Memory split = 348
And in boot options make it
Auto login into console
Let it reboot an make sure it boots into emulationstation. Then turn it off and move the sd card to the pi3a+ and turn it on.

Re: GPIO RetroPie Image on new Pi A+?
@abh Was able to get some buttons working with the preconfigured setups they have in there but don't really understand how to change the gpio buttons for the ones that aren't working. This coding stuff is not my strong suit.

Edit the retrogame.cfg file according to your setup
It’s on /boot
LEFT 4 # Joypad left
RIGHT 19 # Joypad right
UP 16 # Joypad up
DOWN 26 # Joypad down
Red number = GPIO pin number
