What are the pins on the original volume wheel?

Now that guide 6 is out, it becomes clear i should have bought a volume wheel when i ordered all the parts. My local electronics store and nearby webshops don't have it. I could ship it from US or Asia, but that means 2 weeks shipping time, making me a sad panda
Alternatively i could use the original volume wheel, which i of course already have

Thing is: i don't know if the pins match the one used in the guide. I measured around with my multimeter, but couldn't figure it out. Does anyone know what pins i need to connect which wire to?

It should be easy enough to tell which one is ground, and from there you can test continuity between the other 4 to find the ones that go together. I'd check for you real quick but I'm already at work and google isn't turning up anything for me. :\
Here's a guide it turned up for cleaning/restoring the original volume pot, though:

Should be helpful if yours isn't in great shape.

Thanks for that link! Sadly, even with the pictures of what the insides look like, i don't have a clue how to determine which one is the ground or other. I measured resistance using the multimeter, but all pins seem connected to all others, and all combinations have varying resistance when the wheel is turned.

How can i figure out which is which?

Did you figure this out? I am also the same, so do not have a volume wheel on order, looking to use the gameboy one but haven't had chance or will get chance until the weekend to take a closer look.

Not yet, but i hope i can find out today. I'm planning to read up on how these things work, hoping to figure it out.
If i find out, i'll be sure to post the pin layout for others to use!

After a bunch of measuring i found out the pins. Then i started looking for a picture of the wheel to show here, and i came across this post on this very forum, which already contains the full pin layout

Going to be soldering this tonight.
