Re: Screen bracket
I definitely would not recommend it. The nice thing about the epoxy is that it's thicker and you can sort of build it up around the screw post to keep it in place and help it resist turning along with the screw.DE4THRE4P3R wrote:Do you think that super glue would work just as good as 2 part epoxy?

Re: Screen bracket
I second this. I have a lot of experience with superglue/CA with woodworking. Superglue has amazing tensile strength but has absolutely no ability in cleaving strength. This means that pull and pull as hard as you can on a superglue joint, and it'll not break. Twist a superglue joint and it breaks under minimal effort.wermy wrote:I definitely would not recommend it. Re: Screen bracket
i tried superglue. listen to these guys. lol superglue wont cut it. i even tried to make it an all plastic bracket, wouldnt hold. im going to attempt in fusing the plastic together, with an old soldering iron. just let them melt into eachother..and see how that goes .
if that doesnt work, im going to order a new gameboy shell, cut out the square screen front area, and just mount that to the back of the screen, so its a full on support bracket

Now that I've got some free time I plan to have some drop-in 3D printed ones available soon.skrapps914 wrote:i tried superglue. listen to these guys. lol superglue wont cut it. i even tried to make it an all plastic bracket, wouldnt hold. im going to attempt in fusing the plastic together, with an old soldering iron. just let them melt into eachother..and see how that goes .
