Hi all, Ive recently been getting a ton of bad LQ035 screens lately.
These screens have color issues that can make text unreadable or have strange outlines where there shouldn't be any. Either I am very unlucky or the quality at which these screens are being made are just not cutting it anymore. Roughly 7 out of the last 10 that I bought are duds. 70% of the time, roughly, ive gotten the short end of the stick.

Ive noticed that the working screens have a Q.C. stamp on the ribbon while the ones that dont work are missing Q.C. markings. so maybe the majority of these screens sold are just leftover ones that didn't pass quality control.

I am running an 18bit DPI setup and maybe these issues dont show when doing composite. who knows

Just wondering if anyone else has run into these issues and if you have a good source for these screens would you be willing to share with us? thanks!

As some advice when shopping on Aliexpress for these screens, avoid Jiewei Store: Sent 2 bad screens and are fighting not refund me $17. pretty pathetic

There’s just one defective lcd of all the LQ035NC111 I have used. It’s not noticeable though using composite.

Do you happen to have a composite screen board to test them on? I have never seen that issue with any of the screens I have used (20+ screens, composite though). And I have not yet built any of the DPI boards I have on hand to see how they work with that...

I do have driver boards to run them in composite, but I am testing them with your (Tinkerboy) DPI adapter and I have a few that Ive owned for a bit that are good, but I get these groups of just bad ones with these issues.

I'd consider going back to composite but I enjoy the DPI setup so much, its slimmer and much clearer. I have only purchased these last 10 off of 2 sellers on Aliexpress and I'm thinking they are just poor quality or something. Ones that I have bought off ebay and gearbest have worked well so far.

Could be that some of the pinout on the ribbon changed, ask the sellers for a datasheet and compare to the ones that are good.

Oh thats a good point, I didnt think about that.
So I checked to see if the mentioned a change or revision or even if there is a datasheet, but there is no info.
