I wonder if they were selling the new versions or old stock...

Probably old stock. They've had those packages before and they usually sell out within an hour.. This seems to be no exception, it's a really popular item. My guess is they are limiting stock to sell them as packages rather than just the PI Zero itself (25 rather than 5).

Not to mention there is probably way more profit margin on the "stuff"
Whereas there is little to none on just the zero
Smart buisness-wise

When I first noticed it they had 100 for sale. I don't know if that's relevant or not but it is more than I've seen for sale at one time in a while.

Re: Pi Zero at Adafruit right now - SOLD OUT
Since the new version is coming out soon, they are probably trying to get rid of the remaining old stock. Once new one comes out, everyone is gonna want the new one rather than the old. Honestly if they had any old ones left, I'd be willing to buy for $10 since these Pi0 are so damn rare.

already sold out???
Do you know how often they receive them?

I don't think it's when they receive them, they're just trickling out their stock (hence there's old Pi boards). It's their decision to choose when to release these boards, sadly...129jbc wrote:already sold out???

What do you mean by 'old Pi boards'? There's only one model of the raspberry pi zero.crispy_tofu wrote:I don't think it's when they receive them, they're just trickling out their stock (hence there's old Pi boards). Re: Pi Zero at Adafruit right now - SOLD OUT
Well technically there are two different Pi Zeroes, as the new ones that are coming into production have a 'new feature' (link: http://betanews.com/2016/04/14/raspberr ... ilability/).HUg0005 wrote:What do you mean by 'old Pi boards'? Unfortunately, the people that have bought the Pi Zero (after production of the new boards has been started) have been receiving old stock of boards without this 'new' feature. This means that the distributors are hoarding old stock and releasing them for sale slowly.
Hope this helps.
