I know that internet over USB (tethering) is possible, but I can't find the code. My wifi dongle malfunctioned and melted, and now I'm waiting until Friday for the replacement and want to get some stuff done. Anyone know the coding? Thanks.

Sorry I'm no help with the code. But how did you melt it? Did you try and boost the signal in a fire?

Not entirely sure. I had used it once previously just to see if it turned on (10 seconds at most). I had it plugged in today, and it started smoking after about twenty minutes. Quickly disconnected the power and pulled the usb. Took the dongle apart, and it charred the PCB and melted the plastic housing. Must have shorted somehow internally. No problem with the usb, I have previously used it and used it since then with no problems. Freak chance for the wifi, and the company is overnighting one to me (tomorrow since it is so late, so I get it Friday).
Edit: Funny thing is up until the very moment it started smoking and I pulled the plug, it was functioning correctly and transferring data.

No complaints there then with a replacement on the way. Yeah its normally a short causing something to get that hot. I did it myself to one of my powerboosts. It was crazy hot and melting glue that it wasn't even touching

Yeah, you quickly underestimate 5v. I touch it all the time and can barely even feel the tingle. Yet, it can destroy stuff pretty quick. I watched it start smoking, and immediately unplugged it. In seconds, it was absolutely destroyed. I'll have to post a picture tomorrow.

Yes you can do it. I made it with my OSX 10.11.6 and my Windows 10.
Here the link I used :

To ssh to a retropie build, you have to do :
The default password is
raspberry.

Don't forget to connect your raspberry only with the micro usb noted as "USB" and not "PWR IN".

Not sure if this is what you're asking, but I use a
USB to LAN adapter for my GBZ. Just plug it into the USB port on your GBZ build and plug an ethernet cable into the other end. It should be assigned an IP by your router on boot and I ssh into it using this method. I also FTP my game ROMS into the filesystem this way using FileZilla. The one I linked to above is the one I am using, bought it at MicroCenter and it works great. My GBZ has no internet connectivity otherwise, I only connect it in that manner when I need to access the filesystem for whatever reason.

This is what i will probably end up using. I have one of these dongles for my wii u. You can then delete the networking programs that slow the boot up process by like 40 seconds and not have to go through wifi set up or anything.
P.S: Your gameboy shell and button color combo is visually appealing.
