I don't have a powerboost. They can be wired up as Positive to positive and negative to negative. What's the difference in one big battery compared to two that are wired together? How would the PB even know?

Here are some links to people that have done the same mod. With some case modding, you can fit two 2100mah or maybe higher inside in parallel.

Follow up:
I have now tested and confirmed two Samsung 2000mah batteries wired in series. They charge and discharge just fine and fill up the gameboy battery compartment perfectly. With some extra case modding, even a third cell can be added totaling 6000mah. Also removable without taking apart the case.
I followed the two diys I posted.

Got my lipo yesterday (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111921485838? ... EBIDX%3AIT) and it fits great in fact I could fit 2 on top of eachother, so I was wondering can the powerboost 1000c handle charging 2 of them in parallel?

Once I have a safe shutdown board my V1 build will be finished :D

@Mischief That looks like it would fit perfectly in an unmodified battery compartment! I ordered these and the height is the same but there's a little space either side for a reset button and a flush battery connector.

It fits great got space around it and as I say enough height to fit a second on top, just needed to know if it was safe to run 2 in parallel using the 1000c

Cheers, will use the 1 until I find a bigger mah battery the same or similar size then, at least I can fit a reset button as well as the battery connector. Will be adding something to the battery bay to negate battery rattle.

The only way to safely charge multiple batteries is to have separate charging circuit for each battery. In Radio Control helicopters which I play with, I have a charger which will charge each battery separately. The batteries are wired in series to provide the required voltage but it has a separate multi-wire lead that wires to each battery separately for monitoring and charging individually. So DO NOT attempt to charge lipo batteries in series or parrallel or you will either damage them or cause fires.
