USB DAC confusion

I was hoping to get a dumbed-down version of how to install the USB DAC for sound. I already saw a few wiring diagrams on this forum but I am very new at DIY, wiring, soldering etc. If someone could post a easy to understand wiring diagram or picture/explanation I would be EXTREMELY grateful. I need to know how to wire up the thumbwheel, sound card, DAC, and pi together and have it work. I'll post a picture of what I have to work with.

For everything else, please visit the Guides section of this forum, as there is a tutorial on how to get USB Audio to work.

Oh, so I take the jack off of the DAC, wire the GB jack in its place, and connect the usb to the hub?

No, the Audio Jack in this diagram is the original one. You can either desolder the DAC Jack or not, it does not matter, just solder the wires onto the right pads.

There should be no USB Port left, since you want to remove it for a smaller footprint in terms of space.

So no need at all to connect usb? Connecting the headphone jack to the correct pins will work?

I think you should first read about all of this. Are you completely new to electronics and soldering?

You have to connect the USB DAC to your USB Hub, but not with its USB A Ports, you desolder it and wire it directly to the Pads.

I am very new to this, I've been looking around online for help but to no avail. I have managed to get the whole GB0 running fine though, just sound now. Wermy didn't go into details on the USB sound option, so I'm confused because I followed the guide step-by-step up to that point. Your diagram helps a lot and I'll update if I get it working.

Fleder's diagram is great, but it is everything after the USB DAC.
Now concerning your DAC, you'll have to remove the audio jack and then post another picture in hopes that someone knows the schema. Should be able to see though. If something goes wrong, buy the USB dac that sabrent sells.

As for USB wiring, here is the shema that you'll solder to a usb hub.
Image
I'm drowning in confusion, I followed the B wiring schematic, plugged in the dac to usb.... What am I missing? Do I have to find out what pads on the dac are L and R outputs? Sorry for my lack of experience guys, the entire pi zero went well up to this point.

Edit: through trial and error I was able to figure out correct solder points
