Well the Controller board for the screen doesn't fit. Time to order a different one

You might be able to still use the screen, Kite has developed a very small controller board that you could use instead if the screen has a 54pin connector:




Kite doesn't sell the little board yet but buying this should be cheaper than ordering a new screen and controller.
Also you no longer have to use the crappy s-video but directly output to the display at max resolution and a higher frequency rate.
Downside is that you will lose most of the GPIO pins on the PI, only 6 remain available if I remember correctly.
I don't know if GPIO pins for the sound output for Helder AIO board will still work in this configuration.

Definitly an interesting idea that I will explore if I decide to make another GBZ but I already have ordered the following screen from GearBest that should be arriving any day now: http://www.gearbest.com/development-boa ... tml?wid=21

Good thing I kept that screen and its board just in case, I'll have to take a closer look at the screen and see if I could possibly use that Kite board.

Just a quick update! Got the new screen today from gearbest. It all fits much better.

Today I finally got my board from helder in! Super excited to start wiring it up and everything. On the same day, I received the 1000c power boost from adafruit! I put the battery in and plugged in the charger to make sure it worked (it did). Getting really close now, just a few more small things to order!

Hit a bottle neck of waiting for things to come back in stock. Waiting on Ds lite GBA cartridge to b back in stock as well as a few other small things. Also very busy with school and work. 20 hours a week of classes and 20 hours a week of work. Not to mention all the homework, tests, and projects.

Well, definitely went way past the time that I hoped to finish this in. Oh well, rather it take a little while and be right rather than rush it and mess it up. I know have everything that I need, save for extra buttons and a cartridge pcb thing. Oh well, Figure I can still put it together completely despite this and then implement that later on. Hoping to be done by Christmas at this point but we will see what happens. Thank you everyone that continues to follow this (if there is anyone). I'm extremely excited to finish this project.
