I've cut the red jack to solder an old usb cable to have 5V power in, and I used a camcorder for the composite yellow input.TheNotorious wrote:Awesome thanks guys!

The screen will turn on only if it's powered AND has a video input.

Re: SidSilver's GBZ
I just like better Recalbox than Retropie.alien0matic wrote:Is there a reason you are using Recalbox instead of RetroPie?
Recalbox is very light, with lots of great features and the useless features are removed (no Raspbian for example)
You should try it to make your own opinion.

Re: SidSilver's GBZ
I haven't found a feature that Recalbox has, that RetroPie doesn't. That's why I'm asking ![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif)

Re: SidSilver's GBZ
Probably a stupid question, but if the legs on the circuit get soldered togeather when bypassing, is that going to prevent it from working properly? My soldering iron was NOT up to the task of getting this right, and the wire is attached to two of the legs beside each other.
hoping i don't have to go back in, i don't have a copper braid or anything, i've tried just heating it but that didn't get me anywhere....

Re: SidSilver's GBZ
Yes the wire must be solder only on the one pin on each side, else you will have a short and you can even fry your board.

Thanks Sidsilver!
I definitely killed it and bought a second one. Did the hack and now works great off a camera source!
