Sorry for answering too late. The second picture uses excessive solder to jump the 12v input to the 5v output of the voltage regulator. Effectively they are the same mod.
No problem man! im realy glad with your help!

Well the input does work (alot of mario kart is played in my house;) )

I tried to take power from two diffrent sources. The first one came from a usb HUB (the on i want to use for my build) connected to a Iphone power adapter. With that i didnt get any response. So i thought to connect the screen directly to the power adapter.

Here are some pictures of my soldering.

This is the soldering of the red pin cut of from the gearbest screen,

as i thought was correct for power usage only to connect the red and black cables.

Here is the mod on the screen board.

Thanks man for helping me!

Did you ever try it with 12V before doing any modifications to see if it even works?
Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to inform you that I am currently moving very far away, and therefore I am very busy.

UPDATE: I am still alive! My ISP is setting up my internet on the 19th of January at my new place, explaining my offline-ness.

If you write me a PM, I will very likely take some time to respond.

Also, my 2nd build will soon go on, so if you've been following it, please stay tuned! :)

Many thanks for your understanding!
