It was a cheap little speaker on eBay I will have to find it but in all honesty it wasn't that good, I ended up swapping it out for a better one that fit the case exactly with no modification.

How much did he sell it for in the end ? I know he was going to sell it as he couldn't get on with the resolution with the screen.
I'm generally happy with game performance at 320x240, as the costs to get the only known 640x480 4:3 composite display are so high, but I definitely feel his pain when it comes to the RetroPie menus. Do the font size/scaling config changes help with that? I haven't tried with mine yet.

Realistically speaking, though, the original Gameboy was 160x144, and the Advance was 240x160, so 320x240 is better than the original consoles so the gameplay should be fine.

Now the question is, how are we gonna make the font size bigger from the rom's list ?
Like below , options , menu, back.. those are pretty good visible, but for that dang list i really need cat eyes, it's the baddest thing about the whole build, oh and nice buttons i have these too :)
He ended up sending me the SD card back before he sold it as he was having issues with the text, there was a user on here that made a custom theme that looks really good and it actually make the rom list readable, he was happy with that.

I can do, from what he said it was a DMG clear case and he designed the cardboard insert. I will see what he says and ask the question if he fancies releasing it or selling it.

Thanks. That speaker came up on a search. Did you find it to be better than the normal gameboy one? Just to check this was the one you used in the end? :)

Just get such a gameboy plastic case , they are original Nintendo.. just create a nice design and print out, and stick it inside of the box and you are done.
