Post by Lphillimore » Tue Mar 21, 2017 6:03 pm

So i skipped posting my second build.

Maybe ill add some pics. Its 95% done anyway.

This is my 3rd build. Another Pi Zero, this time the new 'W' version. (EDIT: Killed it so just standard Pi Zero)

Here it is complete:

Really wanted to review the L and R buttons and hadn't seen anything I was happy with. Found these however and they work great:

Used the same drill bit for drilling the button holes and it was pretty much perfect:

Also flying through this build. Already have screen mounted, PCB wired, Pi mounted, power switch is in and both L and R Buttons.

Of course the case has also been dremmel'd.

Bit more to go but nice and clean so far.

Looks good so far...

Really interested to see how it all comes together...

I looked at these caps but was unsure how fixing them would work out especially the 12x12 based on the curve of the case...

I pretty much drilled the hole centrally but angled the buttons in slightly to follow the curve of the case. Gluing them in was tricky as the lip on the button cap needs to stay inside the case. Was just precise and Careful with the hot glue

Will post more of the inside and progress shortly.

I bought those same buttons, but I never did use them since they took so long to ship and I got them after i was done. It's nice to know they work. I might be tempted to swap out my small tactile switches.

A few more pics on progress:

Have cut the hole to allow the Pi to fit and case to close.

Will wire PCB to Leonardo Pro this weekend and test.

Wired up the Leonardo this evening and tested. All working nicely. Plugged it into my original GBZ and added as an additional controller.

Thanks to @sotasystems for this, first Leonardo ive used and the guide was spot on.

My setup is standard with L1 and R1 for this build.
