This build was filled with frustration. Every time I tried to close the case, something would stop working. BUT! Using a basic board and a teensy was quite fun for the experience.
Teensy LC
Pcb and buttons from kitsch bent
BW var 9.
Powerboost 1000c
Amp from amazon. (Looks identical to adafruit amp but with a purple board. And oddly says "adafruit!" On the back. So I don't know if it's authentic.)
I had so much trouble making everything fit and a little disappointed in the audio quality. The frustration caused me to take out the USB hub and wire the teensy to the pi. So now the external USB port is just for looks.
The button presses feel great though, more responsive and no double presses. Feels a bit better than my first with helders AIO.
All in all, I'm really happy with this build.
And here they are side by side...
