Re: Veteran's 2nd GBZ (HDMI Screen) (Completed)
IMHO, the outside of nearly all the builds look the same (nearly everyones using brand new parts)
its the inside of the build is where its at....
but... this one sure does look good (IMHO)
its has the custom GBZ water slide decal, NES/GB buttons and NES dpad and the tactile caps at the back to finish it off......

Re: Veteran's 2nd GBZ (HDMI Screen) (Completed)
the HDMI screen really does put the other alternatives to shame.....
the gameplay is so smooth...
Game Boy games kinda feel like your actually playing on a backlit Game Boy
plus the added benefit of not stressing which theme to use (nearly all are useable)
Comic Book theme
Pixel Theme
NES Classic theme

Picked up the kedei screen from the post office (took 10 days tol delivered from China)...
Anyway just wanted to see if the screen fits inside the GB case and guess what..nope seems the screen is about 2mm wider...I have not removed anything yet....I have one back case that sanded on both sides and still no go...
@veterangamer - How do you get the screen to fit?

its not that difficult for it to be modified to fit (it has been posted already)vnman wrote: ↑Mon Oct 30, 2017 2:44 amPicked up the kedei screen from the post office (took 10 days tol delivered from China)...

Yes..I read through the post...from what I can see the screen is a little bit smaller than the board (if the one you got is this one https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3-5-LCD ... sstype=600).VeteranGamer wrote: ↑Mon Oct 30, 2017 3:14 am

For me, the screen is the same size as the driver board. Note that I have not disassembled og remove anything yet, just wanted to see if the screen fits so I just try to mount it with the driver board attached.

if you've got the same screen as me, then you'll just need to trim the board....vnman wrote: ↑Mon Oct 30, 2017 3:28 amYes..I read through the post...from what I can see the screen is a little bit smaller than the board (if the one you got is this one https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3-5-LCD ... sstype=600).VeteranGamer wrote: ↑Mon Oct 30, 2017 3:14 am

if your screen is different, then without seeing it i cant comment.....
bear in mind, im not the first person to use the screen i used, its a tried and tested screen (1UP uses it and so have others like tinkerBOY)....
also its pointless in seeing if it fits without doing all the modifications either to the screens board or the gameboy case (it wont fit without these being done)

Re: Veteran's 2nd GBZ (HDMI Screen) (Completed)
Veteran, do you mind sharing where you got the GBZ holder ? Is this a custom design print or ?
I am planning on getting one of this but i can’t find one that is very appealing to me.
The best option i have found is this
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:416445
But i am not satisfied by it’s « compact and heavy looking » style.
And to be honest, i am very lazy for modifying an existing model as this is not mandatory and is very (very) optional.
Yours looks much more « light ».
Thanks a lot.
