I made a Gameboy zero almost 2 years ago and it was rough for a first attempt. I have worked on that one to make something different that may not be what most would expect.

First the original first attempt. completely analog buttons and a 2.4" TFT. No Audio.

Now for my Steam punk inspired recreation of the original case.

This time with a 3.5" screen, common ground PCB, more inputs, and fiber optic battery indicator.(charged, charging, On, Low) The case was in rough shape but I went with a more well used appearance.

Yea the starting point on this one was rough. the hands and gears on the top turn and the ones on the right top corner actual turn and lock the case together while the hands help hold and align the case. the only glued gears are the ones that don't offer a screw location, and ones on the bottom that go around the head phone jack. the ones in the X and Y Buttons turn the buttons and are off center so that they can either interlock or miss.

Probably should have found or made some sort of diffuser for the fiber optics so that the pin point for the light wasn't so small.
