GameBoyMaster's GBZ Build (WIP)

Post by GameBoyMaster » Sat Jan 20, 2018 6:25 pm

So Hi, I recently started making a GBZ and I decided I'd like to document it, hope you guys like it

First I'd like to show what I did with my case

I did the front X and Y buttons, since they were super marked up at my local home depot and wasn't gonna order one on amazon I had to
drill the holes slowly but I'm happy how It came out, although I wrecked my case the first time around the lip for my screen looks ok...

So next the inside of my case, I've haven't done anything like gluing the screen but I have added by 3d printed button wells with some hot glue

Now It's time for the back of the case

Here instead of going with the tactile buttons some people use and put in the screw posts I decided to you use buttons similar to those that rodocop uses

Finally here is the glue job

It's nothing special but it's done the job for me and I've stress tested it and they're not going anywhere
I'll probably do an update the second I add my screen and helder's PCB

The images don't show up for me. Try uploading them as files, then placing them inline.

I look forwards to seeing your progress!

GameBoyMaster's GBZ Build Part 2

Post by GameBoyMaster » Sun Jan 21, 2018 1:03 pm

So hi I've done what I said in the first part which is:
Add the Screen
Glue It
Make sure my pi is working fine
Add the mobo
Wire the USB Ports
So although I've done all of these things my gamepad dosen't work so I'm basicly stuck for now I'll try tomorrow when I have more time in the day
It looks quite messy but I haven't gotten my gamepad to be recognised in retropie and the USB port although powering my externall controller does not seam to be receiving data

Also you may notice that the soldering is nice and celan, that's because I got a good iron
I guess thanks for anyone who's read this

Let's hope I can finish this one
